Actor Taha Shah Badussha recently visited the Mahim Dargah in Mumbai to seek divine blessings ahead of the release of his upcoming series 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.' Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the series features Taha in the role of a nawab.
During his visit, Taha was dressed in a black kurta and pyjamas, and he walked barefoot inside the dargah carrying a “tokri” full of rose petals and a chadar. He offered the chadar as a symbol of respect and prayed for the success of the series.
'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' is set against the backdrop of Lahore during the British Raj and revolves around the lives of “tawaifs” and “nawabs.” The series promises to delve into themes of love, betrayal, freedom, and relationships, offering viewers a glimpse into a bygone era.
Apart from Taha Shah Badussha, the series also stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sharmin Segal. With such a talented ensemble cast and the creative vision of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' is already generating significant anticipation among audiences.
Apart from a stellar actor, Taha Shah is also an avid singer, he released his single 'Vande Mataram' in 2022.
