Suriya Sivakumar, who originally played the role of Maara in Soorarai Pottru, praises the Hindi remake Sarfira and Akshay Kumar for creating such an important film.
The Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru, titled Sarfira is directed by Sudha Kongara also starring Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madan. An adaptation of G. R. Gopinath's memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey. The film follows a man who sets out to make affordable airlines for low income people, which several enemies try to impede.

"Sarfira" is not just another film but a significant milestone, marking Akshay Kumar's 150th cinematic venture.
On the work front, Suriya is currently working on Siva's Kanguva. The film is produced jointly by Studio Green and UV Creations, and is scheduled to be released in theatres in 2024.
