Founded in 1944 by the legendary Prithviraj Kapoor, Prithvi Theatre began as a dream to create a home for Indian theatre. Although health issues forced him to pause performances, his son Shashi Kapoor carried the legacy forward by establishing a trust and building the now-iconic theatre in Juhu, Mumbai. Today, Prithvi stands not just as a venue, but as a living symbol of India’s artistic heritage—celebrating storytelling, talent, and the enduring spirit of the stage.
