Samuel Goldwyn Films has unveiled the first official trailer for Red Sonja, the highly anticipated fantasy action epic based on the legendary comic book heroine famously known as the “She-Devil with a Sword.” Directed by action specialist M.J. Bassett, the film reimagines the fierce warrior for a new generation while staying true to the fiery spirit that made her an icon in the 1970s Marvel Comics.
Starring Matilda Lutz in the titular role, Red Sonja follows the journey of a vengeful barbarian huntress who rises from the chains of slavery to lead a rebellion against a tyrannical force bent on annihilating her people. Forced into servitude by the cruel overlord Draygan the Magnificent (played by Robert Sheehan), Sonja must rally a band of unlikely allies to stand against both him and his merciless bride, Dark Annisia.
