Actor Anupam Kher expresses his disappointment regarding the recent CISF female officer slapping an elected MP Kangana Ranaut at Airport, called it sad and unfortunate, demanding a strong action.
Anupam Kher was interacting with the media during an award show in Mumbai last night, and he said, “I felt bad, a female did It to another female, a female took advantage of her position to commit such an act, this is absolutely wrong! A strong lawful action should be taken on it. Whatever her anger was, I am not saying she probably didn’t have an issue, and that is why she did such an act, but she shouldn’t have taken advantage of her position and post, there are so many democratic ways to express your anger to the person but to do something like this is very sad and unfortunate, not because Kangana is now MP or actress that is why it is sad or unfortunate, but Kangana is also a woman, and I think any kind of violence against anybody is not right. Tomorrow, anyone can just slap anyone else and make a lame excuse,”
Anupam Kher was also featured on the inaugural magazine cover of Star of India magazine. When asked about it, he said, “I am happy that I graced the inaugural issue of StarZ of India, magazine. This shows they have great taste, and I am sure anyone who has been for 4 decades, can be on the cover. It is humbling as well as a happy moment for me.”
There is an on-going debate in the film fraternity, where writers are working for better recognition and pay structure.
When asked about the same, Anupam Kher said, “Writers do get awards, and there are plenty of awards for writers specifically, it totally depends on the organizer who they give award to, but getting an award is good feeling and I think if you keep on doing hard work, you will win someday.”
