With just two days left for the grand trailer launch of Ranveer Singh’s upcoming spy action drama Dhurandhar, the makers have turned up the excitement by revealing the striking first-look poster of R Madhavan. The actor, known for his powerful and composed screen presence, takes on what appears to be one of the most layered roles of his career.
The poster, shared by Ranveer Singh on Instagram, introduces Madhavan as “The Charioteer of Karma.” Dressed in a sharp pant-suit and sporting a partially bald look, Madhavan’s transformation hints at a character driven by intellect and intensity a man of authority and moral conviction. The haunting tagline and his steely gaze have left fans buzzing with speculation about his role in the film.
According to industry insiders, Madhavan is reportedly portraying a character inspired by Ajit Doval, India’s National Security Advisor and a former Intelligence Bureau chief known for his covert operations and strategic brilliance. The resemblance from his composed demeanor to his distinct hairstyle suggests that Madhavan’s look was crafted with meticulous precision.
This marks another real-world-inspired performance for Madhavan, who earlier stunned audiences as ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. His upcoming lineup also includes a biopic on G.D. Naidu, the celebrated Indian inventor often called “The Edison of India.”
Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is shaping up to be one of Bollywood’s biggest cinematic events of 2025. The film reportedly follows an undercover Indian spy (played by Ranveer Singh) navigating dangerous missions in Pakistan while balancing layers of loyalty, betrayal, and national duty. Alongside Singh and Madhavan, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun in key roles.
Last week, Ranveer unveiled Arjun Rampal’s intense first look from the film, introducing him as the “Angel of Death”. Now, with Madhavan’s “Charioteer of Karma” persona revealed, fans are expecting the next wave of character posters before the highly anticipated trailer launch.
The trailer of Dhurandhar is set to release on November 12, 2025, during a grand event at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is slated to hit theatres on December 5, 2025, followed by a global Netflix release.
With each new reveal, Dhurandhar is fast emerging as one of the most anticipated spy thrillers of the year.
