Veteran actress Padmini Kolhapure and actor Shreyas Talpade joined a host of prominent personalities today in Mumbai to participate in the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign’s cycle rally. The rally, aimed at encouraging citizens to exercise their democratic right, was organized ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections on November 20, 2024.
The event saw a spirited group of cyclists riding through the streets of Mumbai, spreading the message of voter participation. Shreyas Talpade, dressed in a black shirt and brown pants, was seen proudly holding a placard that read, “I will vote,” while Padmini Kolhapure, known for her grace, attended the rally in a traditional saree. Together, they urged the public to cast their votes in the crucial upcoming elections for the Maharashtra Assembly, as well as the Jharkhand Assembly.
The Maharashtra Assembly, with 288 seats, will go to the polls on November 20 in a single-phase election. Meanwhile, the 81-seat Jharkhand Assembly will hold elections in two phases—November 13 and 20, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 23. Both elections are seen as critical, and the SVEEP campaign aims to ensure high voter turnout by spreading awareness and motivating citizens to participate in the electoral process.
In a show of solidarity, numerous cyclists joined the rally, pedaling through Mumbai’s streets while chanting slogans and holding banners that emphasized the importance of voting.
