Maddock Films is back at it again, and this time it’s bigger, darker, and wilder. The fifth installment in its much-loved supernatural universe, Thama, has just revealed its core cast and character posters — and each one brings a heavy dose of intrigue, mystery, and pure madness. With Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui leading the charge, the Diwali 2025 release is shaping up to be one unforgettable ride.
First up, we have Rashmika Mandanna as Tadaka – Roshni ki ek hi pehli kiran (the first and only ray of light). The poster teases a powerful yet ethereal presence, hinting that Rashmika's character may be the emotional anchor in a chaotic world. Known for her magnetic screen energy, she looks set to add heart and fire to Thama.
On the flip side of light comes the king of darkness — Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Yakshasan – Andhere ka badshah. Think mythological menace meets mind games. Nawaz brings his trademark intensity to the role, and his look suggests that Thama isn’t shying away from going full throttle into the shadows.
Balancing the mood is veteran actor Paresh Rawal, who plays Mr. Ram Bajaj Goyal – Jo Hamesha Comedy Mein Tragedy Dhoondhte Hain. With this one line, his character already feels iconic. Expect twisted humor, sarcasm, and the kind of satire only Paresh Rawal can pull off.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, Thama is scheduled to hit theatres on October 17, 2025 — right in the heart of the festive season. The film continues the cinematic universe that began with Stree and includes Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya. And yes, Varun Dhawan is reported to make a cameo, reprising his role as Bhediya — a cherry on top for fans of the franchise.
With quirky character reveals and a tone that blends horror, humor, and heart, Thama is already giving off major cult-hit vibes. The universe just got darker, and we can’t wait to enter it.
