Looks like Jolly LLB 3 is heading to a real courtroom before it hits the big screen! A civil court in Pune has issued summons to actors Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and director Subhash Kapoor, following a legal petition filed by advocate Wajed Rahim Khan. The reason? Alleged mockery of the legal system in the much-anticipated third instalment of the courtroom comedy-drama franchise.

The petition, originally filed in 2024 after the teaser dropped, claims the film portrays the legal profession in a disrespectful and negative light. Specifically, it points out a scene where judges are referred to as "mama"—a slang term that Khan argues is inappropriate and insulting in the context of Indian courts. The Pune court has now directed all three accused to appear in person on October 28 at 11 AM.

Meanwhile, Jolly LLB 3, starring both Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, marks the long-awaited crossover of the original and sequel leads. The first part, released in 2013, was a surprise hit with Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla stealing the show. Akshay Kumar led the charge in the 2017 spiritual sequel, Jolly LLB 2, which turned out to be a box office superhit. Now, nearly eight years later, fans were buzzing with excitement after the teaser dropped on August 12.

Directed and written by Subhash Kapoor and produced by Alok Jain and Ajit Andhare under Star Studio 18, Jolly LLB 3 is slated for a September 19, 2025 theatrical release. But with this courtroom drama spilling into real life, will the legal tussle delay the film—or make it even more anticipated?
