Apple TV+ just dropped the full official trailer for The Last Frontier, and it's pure edge-of-your-seat survival-thriller territory. Set in the icy vastness of Alaska, the new series follows U.S. Marshal Frank Remnick (played by Jason Clarke) as he faces the ultimate nightmare scenario: a prison transport plane crashes in the wilderness, unleashing dozens of dangerous inmates into the unforgiving wild. But it doesn’t stop there — Remnick suspects this “accident” is actually part of something far more sinister.
Premiering October 10, 2025, The Last Frontier instantly channels the tension of Con Air with the survivalist grit of The Grey. Think high-stakes manhunt meets psychological unraveling, all against the brutal, isolating landscape of Alaska — where “there’s no perimeter” and “people are different.” What begins as a chase through the snow quickly morphs into a web of conspiracy, violence, and small-town paranoia.
The cast is stacked: Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Alfre Woodard, Clifton Collins Jr., Simone Kessell, Tait Blum, and Dallas Goldtooth round out a talented ensemble. Clarke, known for intense roles in Zero Dark Thirty and Everest, seems right at home here — grizzled, grim, and suspicious of everything. His Remnick is more than just a lawman — he's a human fault line in a crumbling sense of order.
Created by Jon Bokenkamp (The Blacklist) and Richard D'Ovidio (The Call), with writing support from Melissa Glenn, the series also brings in a powerhouse lineup of directors. John Curran (Chappaquiddick, Tracks), Sam Hargrave (Extraction), Dennie Gordon, and Jessica Lowrey helm episodes, promising a stylistic blend of adrenaline and atmosphere. Behind the scenes, the project is backed by Pickpocket Entertainment and Apple Studios, with Clarke also serving as executive producer.
