Dinesh Vijan, the producer of the much-anticipated film Chhaava, spoke passionately about the movie during its promotions in New Delhi on Tuesday. He reflected on the shift in India's cinematic narrative over the last decade, emphasizing the country's rise to the global stage.

“15-20 years ago, films were being made under the influence of the West, but in the last 10 years, India has been on top of everything," Vijan shared. "Maddock is the company that is built by you all… you supported our story, which is why we were able to make Chhaava."

Vijan continued, sharing the personal impact Chhaava had on him, especially after showing it to his mother. “Chhaava is personally a monumental picture for me. When I showed this film to my mother, she cried and said, ‘I am proud you made this film.’” He emphasized how the movie had a deeper meaning for him, representing a shift towards celebrating India’s rich culture and values.

“We have started looking internally and are proud of who we are. That’s why we are on top of the world now. Chhaava embraces every religion, every caste, every kind of human being. It’s such a universal thought that we must show the world what our culture is. From my mother loving it to my twins watching it, knowing how rich our heritage is, it’s been an emotional journey for me,” he said.

Dinesh also praised the positive energy surrounding the film, particularly appreciating his lead actors and director. "This film is surrounded by positive people. I have not met a more positive person than Rashmika," he said, referring to the actress who plays Yesubai in the film.

Vijan further shared his belief in the purity of the film's creation. "If the intention of the film is right, then it gets made. I have never made a film with a purer intention than this one," he explained. "I would love to say we put so much money into this, but not once did it even cross my mind because it is very pure. Chhaava was meant to be. Vicky Kaushal was meant to play him, Rashmika was born to be Yesubai, and Laxman Utekar was born to direct this film."

Through these heartfelt remarks, Dinesh Vijan revealed not only his vision for Chhaava but also his pride in how India is now leading globally in film, presenting stories that are deeply rooted in its culture and history.
