Prolific filmmaker and script writer Anurag Kashyap breaks down the first three important blocks of filmmaking, says writers are the most important, then editor and director.
While interacting with the media on the sidelines of Bad Cop film promotion, Anurag said, “I should have worn a t-shirt with ‘written by Kader Khan’ engraved on it. Writers play the most important part, from the beginning, then the editor and then director. Writing is the most important part of the process.”
Anurag Kashyap plays the role of baddie in Bad Cop, also starring Gulshan Devaiah, Aishwarya Sushmita, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Harleen Sethi. It is directed by Aditya Datt and produced by Fremantle India.
When asked what comes easy to Anurag, whether its direction, acting, or writing, he said, “Nothing is easy, you must do everything sincerely, whether it is direction, production, acting, whatever that I do, I do it sincerely. I don’t believe I am an actor at par with the people that I work with. Sometimes it does happen that your personality and your character get aligned, and I think something like that happened in Bad Cop.”
Further adding, Anurag praised his co-star Gulshan for helping him with the action part of Bad Cop, he said, “I am overweight in the movie and doing action was tough, thanks to Gulshan who helped me with the action choreography, where to fall, how to take the punch and stuff, otherwise I couldn’t have done it.”
