Maestro AR Rahman bags Filmfare Award South 2023, for his epic music in period drama Ponniyin Selvan 1, and pens heartfelt note on his social media, amidst his US tour.
Rahman recently shared insights into his collaboration with Mani Ratnam for PS1, shedding light on the creative process and the profound impact of their work together.
He shared, “While I was touring the US, our preparations for composing the film’s music began much earlier. A couple of years before, my team and I started preparations for the film by visiting Bali with the gracious support of Mani Ratnam ji, who took us there for research and to acquire some musical equipment.”
“We brought these back to India, leading to the creation of numerous tunes. Mani Ratnam ji has an exceptional talent for selecting the most intriguing pieces. His choices are always unique and forward-thinking, perfectly aligning with the screenplay and enhancing the story.
