Actor Anjum Batra, who has steadily built his career across films and streaming projects since his debut in Dev D, continues to stand out for his grounded and honest approach to success. Recently, he reflected on his journey, fame, and the mindset that keeps him going after the success of Maamla Legal Hai Season 2.

From early roles to films like Amar Singh Chamkila, 83, Jersey, and Wild Wild Punjab, Anjum Batra’s career has been a slow and steady climb. However, it was his role as Mintu (Lakhmir Singh Balli) in Maamla Legal Hai that brought him widespread recognition after nearly 15 years in the industry.

Speaking about whether he feels he has finally “arrived,” Anjum shared a deeply reflective and philosophical take on success and contentment. He said: "I mean, I’ve really only just begun. As human beings—you know how it is—the mind is like the waves of the ocean: one wave comes, then another, then a third. Consequently, you are never truly satisfied. And in my opinion, one shouldn't be entirely contented either—or rather, while one should cultivate a sense of inner contentment, it shouldn't be the kind that implies, "I’ve now become an ascetic and have renounced all worldly desires." No, the desires are still very much present in my mind."

"After all, it has only been about 14 or 15 years; I’ve merely reached this point in my journey through sheer persistence. There is still so much further to go. There is a wonderful couplet that captures this sentiment perfectly: "Since the moment I set out, my gaze has remained fixed upon my destination; my eyes have never once paused to look at the milestones along the way." So, why dwell on milestones? There is still a vast distance ahead of me. And there is another couplet: "The arrow I have just released is not my last; my quiver still holds a wealth of ammunition." That is precisely the spirit—there is still so much left to accomplish. I simply hope that Baba Ji’s grace continues to shine upon me; everything happens only through his blessings. As long as the Universe remains in my favor, there is a great deal I intend to achieve. Moreover, we have such distinguished seniors in the industry—Mr. Bachchan, for instance, who is still actively working. We learn so much from such legendary actors—like Mr. Anil Kapoor—who teach us that one must simply keep one's journey going, ceaselessly and without interruption. One must continue to work hard, for there is absolutely no substitute for hard work. Ultimately, the key is simply to keep at it—to stay the course" added Anjum.

His words reflect a philosophy rooted in persistence rather than arrival, where every milestone is just part of a longer journey. Even after gaining recognition, he emphasizes that ambition continues to evolve rather than settle.

Anjum also drew inspiration from industry veterans like Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor, noting that their continued dedication to work reinforces the idea that acting is a lifelong pursuit, not a destination. Meanwhile, Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 continues its successful run with its humorous take on the chaotic Patparganj District Court. The series stars Ravi Kishan, Nidhi Bisht, Anant V Joshi, Naila Grewal, Tanvi Azmi, and Yashpal Sharma, continuing to blend satire with courtroom chaos.

Anjum Batra’s journey remains a work in progress—driven by curiosity, discipline, and the belief that there is always more ahead than behind.
