At the grand trailer launch of Metro In Dino in Mumbai today, Bollywood’s forever bachelor Aditya Roy Kapur left the audience both amused and charmed with his candid confusion over a trending modern-day term: situationship. Sharing the stage with a powerhouse ensemble cast—Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher—the actor found himself in the spotlight for a surprisingly relatable reason.
When asked whether he had ever been in a “situationship,” Aditya, visibly puzzled, responded with trademark honesty: “What is a situationship? What exactly is a situationship? I’m sorry, I don’t know what that is. So it's not a relationship, and it’s a situationship?” His innocent take instantly sparked laughter and murmurs in the crowd, proving once again why fans adore his unfiltered charm—and maybe also why he's still on the bachelor list.
The occasion wasn’t just about witty one-liners though. The event marked the much-anticipated unveiling of Metro In Dino, a spiritual successor to Anurag Basu’s acclaimed Life In A… Metro (2007). The upcoming film promises a fresh take on love and connection in the modern metropolis, told through four intertwining stories of contemporary couples. With an ensemble cast this powerful and Basu’s storytelling prowess, expectations are already sky-high.
Written and directed by Anurag Basu and produced by T-Series Films and Anurag Basu Productions, Metro In Dino explores the evolving dynamics of relationships in urban India—something even its cast is still trying to decode. Set to release on 4th July 2025, the film might just help answer the very question Aditya posed. Or, at the very least, give us four beautifully messy love stories to relate to.
