Veteran actor and filmmaker Anupam Kher took to social media to share a heartfelt video montage of public reactions following the Cannes 2025 premiere of his second directorial venture, Tanvi The Great. The post, captioned “These aren’t just reviews, they’re echoes of hearts deeply moved by #TanviTheGreat,” showcases the film’s overwhelming reception, with many calling it "deeply moving," "original," and "award-worthy."
A Hindi-language drama, Tanvi The Great is produced by Anupam Kher Studio in association with NFDC, and features a powerhouse cast including Iain Glen, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Nasser, and Karan Tacker. Backed by music from Oscar-winner M.M. Keeravaani and lyrics by Kausar Munir, the film tells an emotionally resonant story that appears to have struck a global chord.
The Cannes crowd was visibly moved, as reflected in the candid reactions compiled in the video—audiences described being “gutted in the best way,” and “uplifted by a film that refuses to be ordinary.”
With this international momentum building, Tanvi The Great is now set to release in Indian cinemas on July 18, 2025.
