Mumbai witnessed a star-studded evening as the first single Zamaana Lage from the upcoming film Metro... In Dino was launched with much fanfare. Actress Sara Ali Khan, who stars in the film, spoke candidly about the song and the music’s integral role in the film’s narrative.
Joining Sara at the launch were co-stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Anupam Kher, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, along with producer Bhushan Kumar, singer Papon, and other members of the creative team.
Reflecting on the song, Sara said, “I think it’s the whole medium — it’s audio-visual. Watching this music paired with what we have done on screen elevates the entire experience. It gives the film its soul. The kind of music that Anurag Basu and Pritam have created for us is like a backbone. We have truly come alive watching and listening to it, and it feels wonderful.”
Metro... In Dino, written and directed by Anurag Basu, is the spiritual sequel to his critically acclaimed film Life in a... Metro (2007). The film weaves together four interlinked stories of contemporary couples set across Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Bangalore. The ensemble cast includes Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher.
With dialogues by Samrat Chakraborty and produced under the banners of T-Series Films and Anurag Basu Productions, Metro... In Dino is slated for release on July 4, 2025. The film’s evocative soundtrack is already striking a chord with audiences, thanks to the collaboration of Anurag Basu and composer Pritam.
