Murberbaad is a slow-burning, bold, and disturbing thriller that doesn’t follow the usual formula. Instead, it pulls you into a world filled with hidden emotions, strange relationships, and a mystery that gets darker with every scene.

The story begins in Jaipur, where Jayesh, a young tour guide played by Nakul Roshan Sahdev, meets Isabelle (Kanikka Kapur), an NRI tourist. They connect quickly, and everything feels warm and pleasant—until a tourist in their group is found dead. This one shocking event changes everything. The story soon shifts to Bengal, where new secrets unfold, and the real tension begins.

Director Arnab Chatterjee shows a lot of confidence in his storytelling. He doesn’t rush the plot or depend on loud moments. Instead, he lets the tension grow slowly, creating a strong mood that keeps you hooked. For a first-time director, Chatterjee shows great control, and his decision to handle writing, directing, and producing pays off.

The film looks beautiful and real, thanks to Binod Pradhan’s cinematography. From the bright streets of Rajasthan to the haunting, quiet towns in Bengal, the visuals match the tone of the film perfectly. The editing is sharp, helping the film maintain its pace without dragging.

The performances are another strong point. Nakul gives a balanced performance—both charming and mysterious. Kanikka is natural and fits well into the role. But the real scene-stealers are Sharib Hashmi and Amole Gupte. Sharib plays a troubled man with great depth, and Amole Gupte is genuinely chilling in his role. Manish Chaudhari also delivers as the tough cop who’s trying to keep things under control.

One of the most surprising parts of the film comes in the final section, when a Bengali cultural layer is added. Instead of distracting from the main story, it gives the film more emotional weight and makes the ending more powerful.

That said, Murderbaad is not an easy watch. It’s dark, intense, and full of psychological drama. It’s not made for viewers looking for fast entertainment. But if you like thrillers that challenge your thinking and go beyond surface-level storytelling, this one will leave a strong impact.

Murderbaad is a gripping psychological mystery that dares to break the rules. With strong performances, bold direction, and a story full of emotion and suspense, it stands out as one of the more unique thrillers in Indian cinema. It’s haunting, thought-provoking, and well worth a watch—for those who can handle the darkness it brings.
