Mere Husband Ki Biwi unfortunately doesn't quite hit the mark. If it were a dish, it might be a bit like a soggy toast—something that promises more but leaves you wanting. The film has its moments but fails to deliver a cohesive, engaging experience.

Arjun Kapoor, while usually reliable, struggles to bring much depth to his character here. His performance feels flat, and his attempts at portraying emotion don’t come across as convincingly as they should. His expressions, at times, seem more perplexed than anything else, which takes away from the potential of the role.

Bhumi Pednekar’s character, Prabhleen, is supposed to have depth, but unfortunately, her performance lacks the necessary spark. At times, it feels like she’s in a different movie altogether, struggling to find her footing in what could have been a strong role.

Rakul Preet Singh, despite her admirable transformation, doesn’t quite find her rhythm in this film. Her performance feels a bit one-dimensional, and while she brings a certain presence to the screen, it’s not enough to elevate the material.

The plot is somewhat predictable and doesn’t quite provide the emotional payoff that one might expect from a romantic drama. The dynamic between the characters is built on jealousy and misunderstandings, but the stakes don’t feel high enough to make us truly care. As a result, the story falls flat, and the characters, though well-meaning, come off as rather unlikable.

Mudassar Aziz’s direction struggles to keep the momentum going, with pacing issues that make the film feel longer than it actually is. There’s potential here, but it gets lost in a script that doesn’t fully live up to its promise.

The music doesn’t do much to lift the film either, feeling more like background noise than a complement to the story.

The standout performer, if there is one, is Harsh Gujral, who provides some much-needed humor. His comedic timing offers a brief respite from the otherwise lackluster proceedings, but by then, it’s hard to shake off the sluggishness of the rest of the movie.

Overall, Mere Husband Ki Biwi doesn’t quite live up to expectations. It’s a film that might be best skipped if you’re looking for a more engaging, heartfelt experience. Though it has its moments, it doesn’t offer much to leave you satisfied.
