You can't spell end of an era without K.
North Carolina not only defeated its bitter rival on Saturday night to advance to the 2022 national championship game but also shut the door on Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski's career. The 75-year-old will leave the job to former Blue Devils guard Jon Scheyer after compiling 1,202 wins, 13 Final Four appearances and five national championships.

While Krzyzewski didn't seem interested in reflecting on the entirety of his career immediately following the loss, there were plenty of Duke fans (and haters) eager to react. Nike paid tribute to the college basketball legend by asking its Twitter followers to share their favorite Coach K moments.
The official Nike Basketball account suggested the Blue Devils' win in the 1992 championship game — and then, things got weird.

After double-checking with multiple sources at Merriam-Webster, The Sporting News can confirm that none of these words includes the letter K.
Sure, Nike was clearly going for messaging here rather than correct spelling. Krzyzewski embodies those words, even if they don't feature any Ks. (The folks wearing Tar Heel blue may disagree.)
The execution was off, though, and it opened the door for plenty of jokes on social media. Nike wanted to celebrate Coach K, but it has to take an L on this ad.
