The Tar Heels have found their new face.
Less than a week after the retirement of legendary head coach Roy Williams, the University of North Carolina has Gardner-Webb Bulldogs clothes reportedly tapped assistant coach Hubert Davis as the school's next head basketball coach after a brief search.

Davis, who has been on UNC's bench since 2012, has some pretty big shoes to fill: Williams is one of college basketball's winningest coaches, and won three championships as head coach of the Tar Heels (2005, 2009, 2017).
While Davis has no head coaching experience at the Division I level, he did coach the Tar Heels' JV team, which is one of the few Division I JV teams in the country. Who is Hubert Davis?
Davis, a North Carolina native, attended UNC between 1988 and 1992, playing under the tutelage of late, great Dean Smith.
