The trailer of Do You Wanna Partner? dropped this Friday with a high-voltage launch event, but beyond the laughter, glam, and glitz, it was lead actor Tamannaah Bhatia’s heartfelt words that struck an emotional chord with everyone present.
Reflecting on the intense yet joyful shooting experience, Tamannaah shared that the entire eight-episode series was wrapped in just 50 days — a feat made possible by the dedication of the cast and crew.
“We shot this entire show — all eight episodes — in 50 days. The whole team, every single person involved, was emotionally invested in this story because it celebrates female friendship,” she said, radiating pride.
Tamannaah emphasized how special it felt to be part of a show that puts women and their bonds at the center, instead of using them as side characters or stereotypes. “What makes me genuinely happy is that the heart of our story is the startup culture, and we’re presenting it in a super entertaining way. While playing these characters and filming these scenes, it’s been one of the most exhilarating and fun experiences — and at the same time, a total emotional roller coaster.”
She further addecd, “While we were shooting, we were discovering these incredible parts written for us — and I’m so grateful to Archit and Collin for creating a show that truly celebrates ‘behenhood’. We’ve seen a lot of bromance, we’ve seen a ton of love stories, but a genuine, strong portrayal of sisterhood is something I’ve always wanted to be part of as a woman. And this show gives us that in abundance.”
Tamannaah also acknowledged the role of producer Karan Johar, calling him a true champion of women-centric stories: “I’m thankful to Karan — he’s someone who constantly champions stories that make his female characters look strong. In every film he produces or directs, women are always at the forefront.”
She also added, almost with disbelief:“It’s funny — we shot this show a year ago, and even in all this time, no one else has tried making something like this. That says a lot.”
Directed by Collin D’Cunha and Kumar, Do You Wanna Partner? follows two women from vastly different worlds who unexpectedly team up to build a startup — and along the way, discover friendship, ambition, and parts of themselves they didn’t know existed. The series stars Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty in lead roles and boasts an ensemble cast including Jaaved Jaaferi, Nakuul Mehta, Shweta Tiwari, Neeraj Kabi, Sufi Motiwala, Rannvijay Singha.
Created by Mithun Gangopadhyay and Nishant Nayak, and produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the show promises a vibrant, relatable, and empowering binge-watch experience.
