Sharing the emotional and festive significance of this year’s Ganpati, Gurmeet Choudhary said:“This year, Ganpati Bappa’s arrival is special in two beautiful ways. First, the idol you see was actually selected by our daughters! Now that they’re around two to three years old, they understand what’s going on and are super excited. Earlier, we used to be the ones filled with excitement—now, it’s doubled in them. So we’re celebrating through their happiness.”
Adding to the festive chaos and fun, he smiled and added: “And second, we’ve got Pati Patni aur Panga going on too!”
For Debina Bonnerjee, the moment carries deep emotional value. Reflecting on this milestone, she shared: “What makes this Ganpati extra special is that it’s our very first celebration in this house… this is our new home. And when Ganpati Bappa enters a new home for the first time, it becomes incredibly meaningful for the entire family. It’s not just a festival—it’s a blessing.”
Gurmeet also revealed that preparations this year were done on a much bigger scale than usual: “Debina always handles all the planning—she takes charge of everything. And since it’s our new home, there was this fresh excitement. We went all out this time. The scale of celebration this year is grand—more than we’ve ever done before. Even our house help joined in. It truly became a collective effort.”
Debina chimed in, talking about the rush and last-minute hustle: “We were caught up with shoots and suddenly realized—oh no, only three days left! So I wore a mask, cap, and glasses, stepped into the crowd, and bought all the decorations and essentials myself. But honestly, it always feels like Bappa chooses what he wants—we're just his mediums. This year, the entire décor is in red.”
Between parenting duties, professional commitments, and settling into a new home, Gurmeet and Debina have managed to turn this Ganpati festival into a heartwarming celebration of family, tradition, and new beginnings.
