T-Series, the crown jewel of India's music and entertainment empire, just crossed a jaw-dropping 300 million subscribers on YouTube, becoming the second channel in the world to hit that milestone—trailing only behind MrBeast’s 423 million.

In a celebratory tweet on August 23, 2025, the label called itself “India’s pride”, thanking fans worldwide for being part of a journey that began humbly with cassette tapes in the early ‘80s. The caption was clear, bold, and well-earned. “India’s pride. The world’s largest Music Channel on YouTube. Celebrating 300 Million+ subscribers...”

From Gulshan Kumar’s cassette store in 1983 to a global digital juggernaut, T-Series' rise is the stuff of business folklore. Now under the leadership of Bhushan Kumar, the label dominates not only music but film production, scoring billions of views with music videos, film songs, devotional tracks, and pop hits. Their dominance was even acknowledged in the 2022 Hurun India Rich List, which featured the Kumar family among India's wealth elite.

The milestone also comes at a time when the Indian music industry is pushing for transparency in AI-generated content, as reported by The Indian Express earlier this week. With its digital muscle, T-Series is expected to play a lead role in shaping AI-era copyright laws, balancing innovation and protection in an evolving global landscape.

The numbers are massive. The impact? Even bigger. This isn’t just about subscribers—it’s about India’s soft power on the global stage, and T-Series is carrying the beat loud and proud.
