Vertical has dropped the gripping trailer for The Order, directed by Justin Kurzel. This intense film features an impressive cast, including Jude Law, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Jurnee Smollett, Marc Maron, Odessa Young, Alison Oliver, and Philip Granger.
Set against the backdrop of 1983, The Order follows a wave of violent bank robberies, counterfeiting operations, and armored car heists that terrorize communities in the Pacific Northwest.
As law enforcement scrambles to uncover the truth behind the chaos, a determined FBI agent stationed in the quaint town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, begins to suspect that these crimes are not the work of typical financially motivated criminals. Instead, he believes they are orchestrated by a group of dangerous domestic terrorists, inspired by a radical and charismatic leader, who are plotting a catastrophic race war against the federal government.
The screenplay, written by Zach Baylin, is adapted from the book The Silent Brotherhood by Gary Gerhardt and Kevin Flynn, promising a harrowing exploration of extremism and its societal impacts.
The Order is set for release on December 6, 2024, and looks to deliver a compelling narrative that intertwines suspense with a chilling reflection on domestic terrorism.
