Get ready for mayhem, meth labs, and a whole lot of mismatched cop energy. Vertigo Releasing has dropped the official trailer for Bad Man, a wild action-comedy directed by Michael Diliberti (30 Minutes or Less), and it’s packed with gritty small-town vibes, offbeat humor, and explosive confrontations. The film stars Seann William Scott, Rob Riggle, Chance Perdomo, and Johnny Simmons in a story that flips the classic buddy-cop formula on its head.
Set in the quiet-but-crumbling town of Colt Lake, Tennessee, Bad Man follows Deputy Sam Evans (Scott), a once-beloved local sports hero who’s now a washed-up lawman clinging to his last shred of purpose. When a murder linked to the area’s spiraling meth crisis shocks the town, no one expects Evans to solve the case. Then enters Bobby Gaines (Perdomo), a flashy undercover agent from the state’s Special Narcotics Task Force, welcomed like a celebrity savior.
Forced to team up, Evans and Gaines form an unlikely duo as they peel back the town’s twisted layers of crime and corruption. But as the investigation heats up, the new “hero” might not be all he claims to be. With Rob Riggle and Johnny Simmons adding to the madness, Bad Man promises outrageous action, dark comedy, and a few sharp twists along the way.
Written by Michael Diliberti and JJ Nelson, the film mixes southern grit with stylized humor, drawing comparisons to cult hits like Pineapple Express and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Expect quick cuts, killer one-liners, and some truly absurd action set pieces that don’t take themselves too seriously—but still land hard.
Bad Man is set to hit theaters and digital platforms on September 15th, 2025.
