Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital today, mere days after being stabbed multiple times by an intruder at his Bandra residence. Despite the traumatic incident, Saif displayed remarkable strength and resilience by walking back into his building without the assistance of a wheelchair, amid heavy police security.
The actor, who shares his home with wife Kareena Kapoor and their two children, was met with a chorus of cheers and support from the media gathered outside his home, who were eager to capture his return. Saif, known for his calm and composed nature, walked into his building unaided, signaling a sign of recovery after the harrowing attack.
The attack took place when an intruder broke into Saif’s home, leading to multiple stabs to the actor’s body. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent a lengthy five-hour surgery. The procedure involved the removal of a piece of the knife from Saif’s body. Following the surgery, he was moved to the ICU for further monitoring.
On Sunday, the alleged attacker, identified as Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir—who had changed his name to Vijay Das—was arrested. The 30-year-old suspect was remanded in police custody for five days as investigations into the motive behind the attack continue.
