Actress Pragya Jaiswal, who has had the privilege of working alongside the legendary Nandamuri Balakrishna in films like Akhanda and Daaku Maharaaj, recently expressed her joy and admiration for the actor, who has been conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award. The highest civilian honor, awarded for his immense contributions to the fields of art and cinema, has earned well-deserved praise from Pragya, who believes Balakrishna’s dedication to the film industry, as well as his philanthropic and political work, makes him truly worthy of this recognition.
In a heartfelt message, Pragya said, “I am very happy and send my many congratulations to Balakrishna Sir for this humongous achievement. I feel that he truly deserves this honor, because he has been working in the film industry for almost 50 years now, as a hero. He is shooting for his 110th film, so his contribution to cinema is immense. He has done so much for the public, including running a cancer hospital, and he is a politician as well. After doing so much, he truly deserves this award.”
Pragya, who has worked with Balakrishna on two major films, also spoke fondly of her experience collaborating with the actor. “Nandamuri Balakrishna is a legendary actor, and Daaku Maharaaj is my second film with him. I have had a wonderful experience working with him because he is very sweet and positive. He has this child-like energy; he just wants to have a good time and make sure everyone around him enjoys the experience as well,” she shared.
Pragya will soon share the screen once again with Balakrishna in the much-awaited Akhanda 2 and has additional projects like Tyson Naidu lined up in her kitty. As the duo continues to bring their magic to the big screen, the admiration for Balakrishna’s achievements—both on and off the screen—remains stronger than ever.
With the Padma Bhushan now added to his impressive list of honors, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s legacy continues to shine bright in the world of cinema and beyond.
