Poonam Pandey, known for her bold and fearless persona, is currently taking the reins as the host of the second season of Kink, airing exclusively on the Atrangii app. The show, which delves into themes of romance, connection, and desire, has already garnered a lot of attention. Pandey spoke candidly about her experience hosting the show, the expectations surrounding it, and her thoughts on its potential to reach a wider audience, including on television.
When asked about the response to Kink, Pandey expressed her gratitude for the positive reception the show has been receiving. "Expectations? I am just glad, the amount of calls we are getting," she said, adding, "I was nervous because it’s my first time hosting, wondering whether people would like it or not." Pandey is clearly thrilled with the feedback: "Thank you, everyone is loving the show... watch it on the Atrangii app, it is up there."
While the show is currently streaming on a digital platform, Pandey is confident that it has the potential to appeal to a wider audience, including television viewers. "I am hundred percent sure this show can be on TV. There’s nothing in this show that can’t be on TV. Everyone can watch it," she asserts. Kink pushes boundaries in its portrayal of relationships and intimacy, but Pandey believes it’s not just for digital viewers. "There are shows already like this abroad, so I don’t see why something like Kink couldn’t be on Indian television."
Kink is not just about exploring themes of intimacy; it’s built around a deeper connection between its subjects. Pandey highlights the unique and beautiful concept of the show: "I will be honest again, this show has a beautiful concept about love, kiss, and connection. There are three layers to it, and it’s very interesting. That is what you will get to see in this entire season."
The first season of Kink was hosted by Divya Agarwal, a dear friend of Pandey’s. When asked how she felt about stepping into the shoes of a host after Divya's successful first season, Pandey shared a heartwarming moment of encouragement. "Divya is a dear friend. The moment they came to me and I talked to Divya, she said, 'Just go and do it.' I had already seen the success of Season 1, so I knew this show had a lot of potential," Pandey revealed.
As a newcomer to hosting, Pandey viewed this opportunity as a chance to challenge herself in a new format. "For me, it was a big challenge and something new," she admits. "Audience ko kuch naya milega," she adds with a smile, clearly proud of her performance and the reception she’s getting as a host.
