Neon has released the second trailer for Anora, a film that garnered acclaim as a Palme d'Or winner at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
Anora stars Mikey Madison as Ani, a young Uzbek-American stripper from Brighton Beach, a Russophone enclave in New York City. Ani, who has some knowledge of Russian, is set up by her boss with a Russian-speaking client. This leads to a chance meeting with Vanya, the son of a powerful Russian oligarch.
What begins as a romantic encounter quickly escalates into a whirlwind romance, culminating in their elopement during a trip to Las Vegas. However, their fairytale marriage faces a serious threat when Vanya's parents arrive in New York, determined to force an annulment.
In addition to Madison, the film features performances from Mark Eydelshteyn, Yura Borisov, Karren Karagulian, and Vache Tovmasyan. Anora is both written and directed by Sean Baker, known for his distinctive storytelling and character-driven narratives.
