In a powerful collaboration to raise awareness about menstrual health, actress Neha Dhupia, along with Soha Ali Khan, Natasa Stankovic, and fitness expert Yasmin Karachiwala, participated in the Go Flo Run initiative. The event, which involved a long walk and run, aimed to break the silence surrounding menstrual health and encourage open conversations about periods, hormonal imbalances, and menstrual products. The initiative's focus was to normalize these discussions, especially among young girls and women, and highlight the importance of prioritizing one's health.
Soha Ali Khan, who actively took part in the run, shared her thoughts on the initiative, saying, “Happy to be part of this initiative and draw attention to periods, and issues like hormonal imbalance, menstrual products, and most importantly, the need to talk about it openly. I think many girls and women find it uncomfortable to discuss menstrual health, and this is why it’s so important to normalize the conversation.” Soha emphasized that talking about these issues, especially with younger generations, can help create a more comfortable and informed environment for everyone.
The actress also spoke about the role of fitness in maintaining overall health, particularly for women. “Fitness is such an important part of regulating your health. As a woman in her forties, I do a lot of strength training, cardio, and regular walks or runs. After doing these activities, I sleep better, my hormones feel regulated, and I’m in a much happier space,” Soha explained. She also highlighted that fitness helps her feel more energized and better equipped to contribute to society.
Soha also touched upon a common issue many women face: prioritizing their own health. “As women, we often put ourselves last while running households and raising families. We tend to push our own health to the back burner, but if you take care of yourself, you can take care of others better,” she said. Her message resonated with many, urging women to make their health a priority in order to be able to care for their loved ones in the best way possible.
The Go Flo Run initiative, which also featured participation from several other influential figures, was an important step in raising awareness about menstrual health and encouraging women to have more open and supportive discussions on the topic. The event successfully brought attention to the importance of fitness and self-care, empowering women to take charge of their health, both physically and mentally.
