During the trailer launch of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, producer Karan Johar took a moment to speak about his other highly anticipated project, Homebound, which has been making international waves. Sharing the journey of the film, he said, “We have come a long way with Homebound. When we started the film, we prayed that we would get into Cannes, then we prayed we would get into Toronto, and we prayed that our film would be the official selection for the Academy Awards. Then we prayed that from 92 countries, which became 86, we would make it to the top 15. There are only 5 feature films in the history of the Academy Awards that a film has reached such a position—Mother India, Salaam Bombay, Lagaan, Chhello Cinema, and now Homebound. It has reached a juncture really close to the final five. Whether we win or not, I seek your prayers and blessings.”

Karan further added, “The media has been so incredibly supportive to the film. With your support and energy, please pray till the 22nd of January, when the final five comes out. We seek your support.”

Homebound, written and directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and based on a New York Times article by Basharat Peer from 2020, is produced by Dharma Productions. The film stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, and follows two childhood friends attempting to pass the national police exam. Selected as the Indian entry for Best International Feature Film for the 98th Academy Awards, it has already made the December shortlist, bringing pride to Indian cinema on the global stage.

Meanwhile, the trailer launch also celebrated the upcoming release of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, written by Karan Shrikant Sharma, directed by Sameer Vidwans, and produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Bhumika Tewari, Shareen Mantri Kedia, and Kishor Arora under Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures. The film stars Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday in the lead roles, with Neena Gupta, Jackie Shroff, and Tiku Talsania in supporting roles.

Scheduled for a theatrical release on 25 December 2025, coinciding with Christmas, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri promises a festive romantic drama, while Karan Johar’s heartfelt appeal for Homebound reflects the producer’s dual commitment to both commercial and critically acclaimed cinema.
