At the trailer launch of her upcoming film Dhoom Dhaam by Netflix, actress Yami Gautam shared a few candid thoughts on her experience of shooting the film, her perspective on marriage, work-life balance as a mother, and her admiration for legendary actress Sridevi.

Talking about the intense shooting schedule of the film, Yami revealed that the team shot for nearly 48 nights. She reflected on the toll of such a demanding schedule but emphasized the drive that kept her going.

“We shot for almost 48 nights… it’s a lot of night shifts,” she said, acknowledging the physical exhaustion that comes with long hours. “In the beginning, it feels supercharged, but by the third night, you start to feel the effects.” However, the passion for the project kept her and the team motivated. “What kept us going was that there was so much to do in the film—every beat had to be captured. Acting, comedy, dialogues—there was so much to give that it kept us active and engaged.”

Yami also described Dhoom Dhaam as a fun, family-friendly entertainer, a "popcorn film" that she thoroughly enjoyed making. “We had so much fun on set, and I hope the audience has as much fun watching it.”

Yami also addressed the topic of marriage, particularly commenting on how Gen Z is often quick to feel anxious or fearful about it. “Marriage is not scary,” she said, reassuring those who might be afraid of taking that step. “Gen Z tends to get anxious too quickly, but there's no need to worry. It’s a beautiful life. It all depends on your partner and the understanding you share. Fear is a normal emotion, but don’t let it rule your life.”

Yami will be stepping into the shoes of a comic character in the film, and fans can expect her to bring her own flair to the role. Talking about her favorite female comedy performances, Yami shared her admiration for the timeless comedy of Sridevi.

Reflecting on the impact Sridevi had on her, Yami said, “Sridevi was a master of comedy. She could turn any scene into something so memorable with just her expressions and timing. Her roles in Mr. India and ChaalBaaz were phenomenal and unmatched.”

Directed by Rishab Seth, Dhoom Dhaam starring Pratik Gandhi, Yami Gautam and Eijaz KHan will stream on Netflix on 14th February.
