The historical action film, directed by Om Raut and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Ajay Devgn, remains a standout in Indian cinema for its gripping portrayal of the fearless Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare. In the title role, Ajay Devgn brought Tanaji's legendary courage to life, alongside Kajol, who portrayed his wife, and Saif Ali Khan, who played the antagonist Udaybhan Singh Rathore. With a stellar supporting cast that included Neha Sharma, Sharad Kelkar, and Luke Kenny, Tanhaji became not just a movie but a cultural phenomenon.

In 2025, Devgn is set to feature in Raid 2 and Son of Sardaar 2, spiritual sequels to his 2018 release Raid and 2012 release Son of Sardaar. He will also appear in a supporting role in his nephew Aaman Devgn's debut film Azaad, directed by Abhishek Kapoor.
