Bollywood icon Aamir Khan has called on fans—both old and new—to head to theatres for the re-release of the cult classic Andaz Apna Apna, hitting cinemas again on 25th April 2025. A promotional video dropped by the official Aamir Khan Productions handle features the actor himself encouraging audiences to seize this opportunity, noting that many missed watching it during its original run. “Whether it’s your first, tenth or the hundredth time, don’t miss Andaz Apna Apna this time, in the theatres!” reads the enthusiastic caption.
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Vinay Kumar Sinha, the film originally released on 4th November 1994. It stars an ensemble cast including Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Shakti Kapoor. The movie is a madcap comedy about two aimless young men who try to woo a wealthy heiress for her fortune—only to find themselves entangled in a case of mistaken identity, true love, and a lot of hilarious chaos.
Although the film underperformed at the box office during its initial release, Andaz Apna Apna has since achieved cult status, with fans quoting its witty one-liners and timeless gags to this day. Its unique brand of slapstick and memorable characters have inspired remakes and spin-offs in several Indian languages, including Ullathai Allitha (1996), Veedevadandi Babu (1997), and Galate Aliyandru (2000). Interestingly, the film’s climax is a tribute to the 1972 hit Victoria No. 203, showcasing its intergenerational influence.
With nostalgia running high and a fresh generation of moviegoers discovering its charm, the re-release promises not just a trip down memory lane, but also a communal theatre experience filled with laughter. Aamir Khan’s heartfelt appeal is a reminder of the film’s enduring magic—proof that some stories only get better with time.
