After a long wait of four years, the highly anticipated Bandish Bandits Season 2 is finally here, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled. Anand Tiwari, the creator of the show, spoke about the journey behind bringing back the popular series, detailing the challenges, the creative evolution, and the deeper connection with Indian classical music that the show aims to foster among audiences.
In an emotional conversation, Tiwari expressed gratitude to the loyal viewers who stuck by the show through its long hiatus. “Thank you for waiting for four years,” Tiwari said, acknowledging the patience of the audience. “These days, no one waits even for two minutes, so waiting four years is a huge deal. If you liked Season 2, I hope the wait has been worth it.”
He reflected on the meticulous care and effort that went into creating the new season, pointing out that it was not just about enhancing the music but also about enriching the storytelling. “We tried to add a lot of detailing — not just in the music but also in storytelling, in every character. Not just Radhe and Tamanna, but every actor, whether they are new to the show or reprising their old roles, has grown," Tiwari explained.
The series has been a massive hit, and Tiwari acknowledged the responsibility that comes with success. “We take a lot of responsibility when something does well. And now, we want to give you something hopefully as good, if not better,” he continued. “We didn’t want to come to you with something half-cooked or half-baked. In the first season, we spent about two and a half years on scripting, followed by a year of shooting. You saw the result of that hard work. This time, we were aware that you had seen Season 1, and that made the wait even more worth it. You lived that journey with us, and for that, I’m truly thankful.”
Bandish Bandits season 2 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
