Nagarjuna is all set to star in Kuberaa, a social thriller directed by Sekhar Kammula—a collaboration the actor has been eager about for the past 15 years. Speaking about the project, Nagarjuna said, “From the start of my career—with films like Shiva, Khuda Gaawah, Criminal, Zakhm, Angaaray, and all my dubbed films—they have been accepted very well in the north. I am grateful to everyone who appreciated my work. Kuberaa is very special to me because it came at a time when I was wondering what to do next. I didn’t want to keep doing the same roles over and over again.”
He went on to share how the offer from Sekhar Kammula sealed the deal: “I didn’t ask much about the role—I said yes because I knew his previous work. He is a brilliant filmmaker with true sensibilities and a pure heart, which shows on screen. That’s why I accepted the role. And the star cast is brilliant.”
Kuberaa is a high-profile multilingual project filmed simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. Produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao under Amigos Creations, the film also stars Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil. The film’s music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, with cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy and editing by Karthika Srinivas, promising a cinematic experience packed with style and substance.
Slated for a worldwide theatrical release on June 20, 2025, Kuberaa is already generating excitement among fans of both Nagarjuna and Sekhar Kammula. With the actor’s deep connection to Hindi cinema and Kammula’s distinct storytelling style, this film is shaping up to be a fresh and engaging addition to Indian cinema.
