Sony Pictures has just released an intense first-look featurette for Until Dawn, the upcoming horror movie based on the popular PlayStation video game of the same name. Directed by David F. Sandberg, known for his work on Annabelle: Creation and Shazam!, the film brings a chilling new twist to the time-loop horror genre.
Starring Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A'zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Maia Mitchell, and Peter Stormare, Until Dawn follows the terrifying journey of Clover and her friends as they venture into a remote valley one year after the mysterious disappearance of her sister, Melanie. In search of answers, they explore an abandoned visitor center, only to find themselves hunted by a masked killer. As they are horrifically murdered one by one, the group awakens to find themselves stuck in a nightmarish time loop—forced to relive the same terrifying evening over and over. Each new cycle brings a different, more horrifying version of the killer’s threat. With their lives at stake and time running out, the group realizes they have only a limited number of deaths left—and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.
The script, written by Blair Butler and Gary Dauberman, promises a fresh, heart-pounding take on the time-loop concept, blending slasher elements with psychological terror.
