Quiver has just unveiled the action-packed trailer for Cleaner, an upcoming thriller directed by Martin Campbell, known for his work on Casino Royale and The Mask of Zorro. Set against the backdrop of present-day London, Cleaner promises a thrilling blend of high tension, political intrigue, and heart-pounding action. The film stars Daisy Ridley, Taz Skylar, and Clive Owen in key roles, and the trailer has already got audiences on the edge of their seats.
The story follows a group of radical activists who take over a prestigious energy company’s gala, holding 300 hostages in an effort to expose the corruption of the event's hosts. However, their righteous cause is soon hijacked by a dangerous extremist within their ranks, who is willing to murder everyone in the building to send his anarchic message to the world. The fate of the hostages, including Ridley’s character’s younger brother, rests on the shoulders of an unlikely hero – an ex-soldier turned window cleaner, played by Daisy Ridley. Suspended 50 stories up on the outside of the building, Ridley’s character must navigate both the physical dangers of her perilous position and the chaos unfolding inside to save those trapped.
With an all-star cast featuring Clive Owen and Taz Skylar, Cleaner is a story of survival, sacrifice, and moral complexity. Ridley, best known for her role as Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, takes on a completely different, action-oriented role, showcasing her versatility as an actress. Her character’s struggle to save her brother and stop the escalating violence promises to be both emotionally charged and physically demanding.
The screenplay for Cleaner was written by Matthew Orton, Simon Uttley, and Paul Andrew Williams, with a story that blends personal stakes with larger social and political commentary. The film is slated for release on February 21st, 2025, and with its high-octane premise, stunning visuals, and gripping storyline, Cleaner is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated thrillers of the year. Fans of intense action thrillers are in for a treat as this high-stakes drama hits cinemas early next year.
