Netflix has just dropped the trailer for Sirens, its upcoming limited series that promises opulence, obsession, and one wildly uncomfortable family weekend. Based on Molly Smith Metzler’s acclaimed play Elemeno Pea, the series reimagines the sharp stage satire into a glossy, binge-worthy psychological drama set on a glittering island estate where class clashes, sisterly tension, and a dangerously charismatic boss all come to a head.
At the center of the storm is Julianne Moore as Michaela Kell — think Martha Stewart meets Miranda Priestly with a glass of chilled rosé and a steel spine. Michaela is the ultra-polished, questionably benevolent employer of Simone (played by House of the Dragon breakout Milly Alcock), who has fallen headfirst into Michaela’s cult-like world of curated perfection. But when Simone’s skeptical sister Devon (The White Lotus star Meghann Fahy) shows up for a surprise visit, she’s ready to pull her sister back to reality — only to find herself locked in a psychological tug-of-war with a woman who doesn't lose.
Over one tension-soaked weekend at the Kells’ private island estate, secrets unravel, alliances shift, and the price of privilege becomes terrifyingly clear. The stacked cast also includes Kevin Bacon, Glenn Howerton, Bill Camp, and Felix Solis, each bringing their own brand of intrigue and unease to the mix. With Molly Smith Metzler serving as showrunner and Watchmen’s Nicole Kassell in the director’s chair, expect sharp writing, impeccable style, and emotional warfare in every episode.
Sirens premieres globally on Netflix on May 22, 2025, and based on the trailer alone — equal parts seductive and sinister — this is one long weekend viewers won’t be able to look away from.
