Dark Sky Films has dropped the intense trailer for Hood Witch, the latest thriller from director Saïd Belktibia. Originally titled Roqya in French, the film stars Golshifteh Farahani, Amine Zariouhi, Jérémy Ferrari, Denis Lavant, and Issaka Sawadogo in a story filled with intrigue, danger, and the supernatural.
The plot follows Nour (played by Golshifteh Farahani), a woman who earns a living by smuggling exotic animals and illegal goods. She also develops a mobile app that connects users with mystical marabout healers, offering a blend of tradition and technology in an otherwise harsh and unforgiving world. While Nour’s goal is to get her son out of their troubled city and give him a better life, things take a dangerous turn when one of the app's users undergoes a consultation that results in a tragic outcome. This tragedy sets off a violent chain reaction, forcing Nour to confront escalating violence that threatens not only her life but the life of her son as well.
As Nour faces the consequences of her actions, she must navigate a dark world where the boundaries between the real and the supernatural blur. The film’s tension builds as Nour, trapped in a violent storm of revenge and mysticism, fights to survive and protect her family.
