Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to make his much-anticipated debut in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe with Thamma, and he couldn't be more excited — especially about the film’s show-stealing track Poison Baby. Speaking at the recent song launch, the actor revealed a special connection with the now-viral number, calling it “the song we’ve been waiting for.”
“This was the announcement song of our film,” Ayushmann shared with fans and media. “Exactly a year ago, on last Diwali, we launched the film with this song. We released just the mukhda, and it instantly went viral. It was trending on reels — it had that spark. So we’ve all been waiting for a year for this song to come alive, and finally, here it is. What a great job done by the entire team.” And judging by the explosion of views and fan reactions, he’s not wrong — Poison Baby has already become a pop-culture moment.
Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, blends romance, horror, and comedy in a uniquely Bollywood cocktail. Written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara, and backed by the creative powerhouse duo Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, the film marks the fifth chapter in the ever-expanding Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal, promising an electric mix of performance and genre-bending madness.
The musical backbone of the film is provided by composer duo Sachin–Jigar, who’ve once again delivered a banger that’s both catchy and cinematic. With Poison Baby, they’ve created a track that not only sets the tone for the film but also marks a cultural moment — bringing together Malaika Arora’s dazzling return to dance, Rashmika’s charm, and now, Ayushmann’s full-circle moment.
Set for release on October 21, 2025, right in time for Diwali, Thamma is shaping up to be more than just a spooky rom-com — it’s a celebration of storytelling, star power, and that unmistakable Maddock magic. And if Poison Baby is just the beginning, audiences are in for a wild, genre-bending ride.
