At the Amazon MX Player StreamNext event held in Mumbai on Thursday, where the platform unveiled its exciting slate of shows for 2025, Bobby Deol spoke about his role in Aashram and what it was like to be part of a show that has become a massive hit. The actor, who continues to play  Baba Nirala in the upcoming season 3 of the series, shared how the opportunity to play this complex character came about.
 
“It’s all because of Prakash Ji,” Bobby said, referring to the show's creator, Prakash Jha. “He saw something in me, called me, and narrated the story. When he was telling me the story, I thought I was going to be playing a police officer, someone who would confront Baba. But when he told me that I would play Baba’s role, I was truly surprised. I couldn’t believe it—this was the role being offered to me.”
 
Bobby revealed that playing Baba Nirala was a huge challenge for him as an actor. “For years, I’ve been trying to do something different, to challenge myself as an actor. Prakash Ji gave me that opportunity, and I’m so grateful for that.”
 
He also spoke about the impact of the show, attributing much of its success to Prakash Jha's writing and the incredible performances of the entire cast. “I feel that every character in the show, the way Prakash Ji has written them, the way every actor has performed, has made the show what it is today,” he said. “The storyline, the drama, everything created by Prakash Ji has been amazing.”
 
Reflecting on the overwhelming response, Bobby shared, “It’s really nice that it’s been a couple of years now, and wherever I go, people keep asking me, ‘When is Aashram coming back?’”
 
Season 3 of Aashram will soon be streaming on Amazon MX Player, continuing the journey of Baba Nirala in a gripping new chapter.
 
During the event, Amazon MX Player also announced its exciting lineup for 2025, including other highly anticipated shows like Mitti Ek Nayi Pehchaan, Who’s Your Gynac Season 2, Hip Hop India, Hunter, and Jamnapaar.
