Salman Khan’s latest venture, Sikandar, which was meant to be his biggest cinematic spectacle, is already shaping up to be one of the biggest disasters of his career. With a whopping budget of 200 crores (excluding the star’s producer fees), this so-called magnum opus is crashing and burning faster than anyone could have imagined. Let’s break down the harsh reality and give you 5 brutal reasons why Sikandar will flop hard at the box office.

1. Advance Bookings Are a Joke

Only 5 Crores on 17,000 Shows The film has been in advance booking for four days, and what’s the result? A pitiful 5 crores on 17,000 shows. Let that sink in. A Salman Khan movie, one of the biggest stars in India, has managed just 5 crores in advance sales. To put this into perspective, a regional film or a small budget Bollywood flick can pull in better numbers. This is a massive red flag. Sikandar dodged the traditional Friday release, likely to save face after realizing that opening day numbers would have barely scraped 15 crores, a laughable figure for a film with a 200 crore budget.

2. Age Is Catching Up to Salman Khan

He’s Rusty and Outdated At nearly 60, Salman Khan’s time as the ultimate action hero is over. His physicality is no longer what it once was, and his performances have become painfully repetitive. Gone are the days of the emotionally charged Bajrangi Bhaijaan; now we’re stuck with the same tired, formulaic action sequences that no one is buying. His acting is as outdated as the scripts he keeps signing. Let’s be honest—Salman is no longer the box-office juggernaut he once was.

3. The Music

An Absolute Flop Pritam was supposed to save this film with his musical genius, but the tracks are a complete disaster. Zohra Jabin, Bam Bam Bhole, and Sikandar Naache—not only have these songs failed to chart, they’ve completely disappeared from public consciousness. They have zero impact, and Sikandar’s music is already being labeled as a massive disappointment. No one is talking about it, and no one is listening to it. A Salman Khan film with a dead soundtrack? That’s a disaster waiting to happen.

4. Murugadoss Delivers a Rehashed

Boring Film Director A.R. Murugadoss has somehow managed to create a movie that feels like a low-effort, rehashed version of his own previous hits (Ghajini, Holiday), as well as Salman’s past disasters like Jai Ho. It’s like they took a few of his best action hits, threw them into a blender, and then pressed “play” on an outdated storyline. If Sikandar were a meal, it would be a bland, reheated leftovers dish. The film brings nothing new to the table, and the audience isn’t fooled by recycled plots and tired action sequences.

5. Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Recovery’ is Looking Like a Fantasy After the debacle of Chandu Champion, producer Sajid Nadiadwala is now facing the nightmare that is Sikandar. With the advance bookings in free fall, Nadiadwala is about to face another massive loss. What’s even worse is the social media buzz around the film, which is already calling out Sikandar for being a cheap imitation of better films. The film’s launch couldn’t have come at a worse time, with the industry’s eyes now on the dominance of South stars. Sikandar is nowhere near being able to compete in this new era of cinema.

The Inevitable Failure With all the signs pointing to disaster, Sikandar is on a crash course for failure. The opening weekend is expected to barely scrape anything which is a humiliating number for a film of this scale. After Eid, the film’s fate will be sealed, as it will face a harsh reality of dwindling numbers during the workweek. No matter how good or bad the film turns out to be, it’s already facing a catastrophic decline, and Sikandar will likely struggle to even break even.

Salman Khan’s reign at the box office is clearly nearing its end. This is the moment we’ll look back on as the turning point—when the Khan of Bollywood became irrelevant. Eid 2025 is going to be a sad one for Salman fans, because Sikandar is doomed to fail, and there’s no way around it.

It’s a bitter truth, but Sikandar is a 200 crore nightmare, and nothing can save it now.
