First it was actor Irrfan, who spoke high about namma Kannada film Lucia. Now it is the turn of yet another B'wood director, Anurag Kashyapo, who is busy tweeting about Lucia.
Lucia, directed by Pawan Kumar, saw a release last Friday (September 6). The film, which has Sathish Neenasam and Shruti Hariharan in the lead roles, talks about how the protagonist Sathish suffers from insomania. While the film is getting mixed reviews at the BO, overall the movie is found to be a 'different' attempt in Kannada cinema.
Director Anurag took his micro-blogging website to post about the film. He said, "Lucia was made for 51 Lakhs , entirely crowd funded. Opens very well." Anurag further added, "And now Lucia sells satellite for 95. Way to go. Show the way. Dying to see it." And what's more? The Gangs of Wasseypur director promised to watch the film this Monday. With a London screening and stalwarts from the industry talking about Lucia, Kannada films are truly travelling to places.
