Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Thalaivaa which is expected to hit the screens tomorrow (Aug 9) appears to be facing last minute release issues. This is the second time this year after Vishwaroopam, such an issue has cropped up close to the release. While the advance booking for the film has been sold out for the opening day in a jiffy, the theatre have stopped the advance booking since yesterday morning due to threats regarding possible violence received. Vijay in a press release has clarified that the film has nothing to do with politics. It's a complete family entertainer with all the necessary ingredients including romance, action and comedy. This is not a political film as some miscreants claim. Vijay has further clarified that the film is not against any political group or individuals and has requested the public not to fall for these rumours. Meanwhile, there is an uncertainty over the release of the film starring Vijay and Amala Paul in the lead. The exhibitors and key members associated with the movie convened for a meeting yesterday evening where no resolution was reached and the decision is expected to be taken during the second round of meeting scheduled today (Thursday).
