It happens sometime! The topnotch singer rendering songs have been replaced in the past. One of the past examples in Kannada filmdom is Udit Narayan song in 'Preethse' - title song Preethse Preethse Kannu Muchchi Nanna Preethse.....was replaced by producer Rockline Venkatesh when he heard the local talent Hemanth singing the same song in the track. Rockline Venkatesh approved Hemanth voice for the song and Udit Narayan voice was given a go.

After that many such incidents might have taken place but the recent tiff is between Sonu Nigam and music director of 'Notorious' Kannada cinema SR Prabhu.

For the song Kannadada Shringariye Kangalalle Selevavale.....the concept of music director Prabhu was to mix the classical and contemporary style of singing. On hearing the song sung in the track Sonu Nigam in Mumbai studio told the music director Prabhu to keep only the classical style. That was not the idea of Prabhu. He insisted on classical and contemporary style. Sonu Nigam did not agree with the idea of Prabhu. Prabhu on the other hand was not ready to Sonu Nigam idea. The remuneration received was returned by Sonu Nigam.

Back home music director SR Prabhu roped in new talent Aravind M, a final year engineering student of Bangalore institute of Technology and was extremely happy with his singing.

In fact Aravind did not know this development. He came to know only at the audio release when hero of the film Rakesh Adiga appreciated the guts of music director in rejecting the Sonu Nigam voice. M Vijayasri has made a humming for the well rendered song of Kannada Shringariye.
