Sony Entertainment Television’s latest show, ‘Comedy Superstar’ unveiled its format and judges in a gala event yesterday.
Judging panel is led by Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, veteran actor Shekhar Suman and Sonu Sood. The show's tagline says ‘Hum Khojenge India Ka No.1 Entertainer’ and offers a platform to aspiring stand-up comedians to showcase their entertaining skills.
“It is not just a comedy show, it is an emotional show. This show is about journey, of talented people, who travelled from every remote corner of India, to this big stage to fulfil their dreams, where raw talented meet judges like Sushmita Sen and Sonu Sood” says Shekar Kapoor during promotional press meet.
Shekhar Suman has judged many shows comedy and reality over the years, understands that meaning and importance of grooming talent and helping contestants with total over-haul personality development.
“I’d say, it is not a show, it is a finishing school , where we have groomed people, helped him fulfil their dreams and told them the most important thing, What not to do?” says Shekar Suman.
“Because in the race of making people laugh, people or contestants turn vulgar, use un-parliamentary words, cheap taglines and unwanted subject selection just turns the show into some sort of debacle which is embarrassing because it is a family show. Through this show we want to tell people that clean, healthy and entertaining shows are possible” adds Shekar.
The series will be hosted by Sudeepa Singh and Jai Soni, the show is all set to be launched on August 22 and will be telecast on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 p.m.
