After hitting a massive high with Ponniyin Selvan – 1, actor Chiyaan Vikram confirms his new Pan-India movie titled Thangalaan. The first look and teaser for the period drama is out. 
 
The official handle of Studio Green dropped the title teaser and first look for the film on social media. It said, “Making this festive day better and celebrative with the posters of #ChiyaanVikram in #PaRanjith's #Thangalaan, produced by #KEGnanavelRaja, A #GVPrakashKumar Musical, Watch the Title look video here, Wishing you all a happy and safe #Diwali” 
 
Helmed by Pa Ranjith, the film is based on true incidents of reportedly the Tamil labourers who toiled at the Kolar gold field. This period film has Vikram looking raw and rustic.
 
Thangalaan is bankrolled by Ranjith's Neelam Productions. GV Prakash would be working with the director for the first time, his score for the title announcement video has increased expectations for the movie.
 
'Thangalaan' is reportedly set against the backdrop of early 19th century mining. The film also stars actors Malavika Mohanan and Parvathy in pivotal roles. 
 
Vikram will also start shooting for PS-2, helmed by Mani Ratnam.
