The title of "Kaththi" star Illayapathy Vijay's 58th flick has been officially confirmed as "Puli."

Earlier, a lot of names were doing the rounds including  "Garuda, "Mareesan," and "Maru Dheeran." But the makers have finally revealed the name as on Vijay's Twitter handle.

The makers of the film tweeted, "We @SKTStudios are proud & happy to announce that our upcoming film with Ilayathalapathy Vijay is titled as #PULI."

"Puli" is one of the most-awaited Tamil films of 2015. The Vijay starrer will reportedly have the actor playing dual roles. Buzz is that he will be appearing as a commander as a dwarf in the film, though there is no official confirmation in this regard.

This film is directed by Chimbudevan, who is popular for making fictional entertainers like "Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi" and "Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam."

Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani play the leading ladies in the film, while B-Town Diva Sridevi and Sudeep play pivotal roles. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music for the film, while cinematography is handled by Natarajan.
